Updating IntelliTrack Mobile

Some updates may require that IntelliTrack Mobile be uninstalled before installing the new updates.

Important: If database changes were part of the updates, the old database must also be deleted before installing the IntelliTrack Mobile updates.

This is a basic process:

  1. For IntelliTrack Mobile Batch only upload any collected data to the main IntelliTrack web application.
  2. Uninstall IntelliTrack Mobile from the device.
  3. Delete the IntelliTrack Mobile database.
  4. Reinstall the updated IntelliTrack Mobile application to the device.

Uninstalling IntelliTrack Mobile from the Device

Instructions are given for uninstalling IntelliTrack Mobile from a Windows Mobile device.

Deleting IntelliTrack Mobile from a Windows Mobile Device

To uninstall IntelliTrack Mobile from a Windows Mobile device, follow the steps below.

  1. Select Start > Settings > System tab.
  2. Go to Remove Programs.
  3. Select IntelliTrack Mobile to highlight it.
  4. Select Remove.
  5. After IntelliTrack Mobile is removed from the device, remove the IntelliTrack database file, IntelliTrack.sdf.

Remove the Existing IntelliTrack Mobile Database

After the IntelliTrack Mobile application is uninstalled, remove the IntelliTrack Mobile database file, IntelliTrack.sdf.

  1. From the Start page, navigate to the IntelliTrack program folder.
  1. The folders and files found on your device are displayed onscreen. Select the Program Files folder. Double tap it.

  1. Select the IntelliTrack Mobile database file, IntelliTrack.sdf.
  2. Select the Delete icon.
  1. A Confirm Delete message appears asking you if you are sure you want to delete the database.
  1. Select OKto delete the IntelliTrack database file from the IntelliTrack folder.
  2. If a separate database form appeared, exit out of it to return to the IntelliTrack program folder.
  3. Select the Windows Close icon (X) to close the IntelliTrack program folder. You are returned to the Main form. The IntelliTrack database has been removed.
  4. Next, install the latest updates to IntelliTrack Mobile.

Reinstall IntelliTrack Mobile

Once you have uninstalled IntelliTrack Mobile and deleted the IntelliTrack database from your device, you are ready to install the new IntelliTrack Mobile application with the updates.

To download the device installer from the Download Mobile Application page and install IntelliTrack Mobile, please follow these steps.

  1. Log into the IntelliTrack web application.
  2. Select Mobile > Download Mobile Application from the menu bar.
  3. The Download Mobile Application page appears.

  1. Download the IntelliTrack Mobile installer from this page. Select the Make and Operating System for your device and then click the Download button.
  2. You are prompted to open or save the file.
  3. Open the file, or locate where you saved the file. The file is an executable file and the file-name will contain the device make and operating system in it. For example, the IntelliTrack Mobile Universal Windows CE5 installer is called IntelliTrack_2_0_GenericWM5.exe.
  4. Make sure that the device is connected to the PC and that a two-way sync partnership between the PC and device has been established.
  5. From the PC, select the mobile installer file and double-click on it.
  6. If an Open File - Security Warning message appears. Select Run.
  1. The IntelliTrack Mobile setup wizard appears to welcome you to the IntelliTrack Mobile setup wizard.

  1. Click Next to continue. The License Agreement windows appears. To continue with the installation, you must agree to the terms of the License Agreement. Click the I Agree button to continue.

  1. The Choose Components window appears. In the Select the type of install field, click the drop-down arrow and select the type of installation:
    1. If you are reinstalling IntelliTrack Mobile, select the Custom install and unmark the .NET Compact Framework and SQL Server Compact Edition check boxes. This will only install the IntelliTrack Mobile Client. For a re-installation, this is the recommended option.
    2. If this is a new installation, mark the Full option to install the IntelliTrack Mobile Client, the .NET Compact Framework, and the SQL Server Compact Edition.
  2. Click the Install button.

  1. Click Yes to continue installing IntelliTrack Mobile on the device.
  2. A status bar appears showing you IntelliTrack Mobile installation progress.

  1. When the installation is finished, another message appears: it asks you to check your mobile device to see if any additional steps are necessary to complete this installation. At this point, check your device. If no additional steps appear at the device, return to the PC and click OK to close this message:

  1. The Completing the Setup Wizard form appears.

  2. IntelliTrack Mobile is now installed on the device.
